English as a Second Language
The ESL program aims to enable English language learners to become competent in understanding, reading, listening, speaking, and writing the English language through the development of literacy and academic skills.
What is ESL (English as a Second Language), and what does the program look like?
Everyday life functions may be very difficult for those who cannot speak English. New Castle County Vo-Tech’s Adult Education Division is offering Free English classes for adults whose first language is not English. If you are interested in improving your English skills to get a job, a better job, or enter a training program, you will benefit from our program.
What is the registration process?
After you complete the online registration form, depending on seating availability, you will be contacted by phone to schedule an English language listening and speaking assessment. If seats are available, you will be placed in an English class. Classes fill up quickly, so don’t delay!
The program is FREE to Delaware residents.
